Performance of Agri-warehousing in India

Warehouses are scientifically designed storage structures that protect the quantity and quality of stored products with necessary preservation methods. This study was conducted to assess growth performance warehouses, Negotiable Warehouse Receipt (NWR) electronic (e-NWR) in India. Percentage analysis indicated there is 102.42 per cent number Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) warehouses average capacity 106.78 lakh MT State (SWC) has 105.25 439.12 capacity. In 2017-18, Development Regulatory Authority (WDRA) issued total 6447 NWRs for Rs. 313.66 crores value deposited commodities farmers got sanctioned loan 90.35 against NWRs. 2019-20, WDRA 134939 e-NWRs 5303.44 405.01 which indicates progress e-NWR faster than NWR. Study suggested proper building awareness programs farmers, higher tenure reducing warehouse rental cost will help get maximum benefit out e-NWR.
